Tewodros Assefa, aka Teddy Yo is an Ethiopian hip-hop artist. Recognized as a great promoter of Ethiopian culture, he admits finding his love for hip-hop by listening for the first time, the American rapper LL Cool J. Later, he believes that his generation would need a more modern sound outlet to promote its culture, and the hip -hop being the ideal way. Teddy became famous in 2007 with "Gurageton", a festive, upbeat track released to celebrate the new millennium. It is by promoting this culture that the artist decides to contribute to the promotion of the values of unity and peace, through the pan-African humanitarian project Sing For Africa.
