Assia Maouène better known by the name of Assia, is a Franco-Algerian singer born in 1973 in Algiers. Immersed from an early age in a musical atmosphere, she was noticed, at the age of 20, by the French hip-hop group Ministère A.M.E.R, who offered her to be their backing vocalist. In 2000, she released her first album, "Chercheuse d'or", which sold over 200,000 copies and won a gold record with the title "She's Yours". The single has sold more than 700,000 copies. In 2005, she released a second album "Again and Again" centered on love, uprooting, war and peace. In honor of her African origins of which she has always been proud, she decides to add her voice to the humanitarian musical project "Sing For Africa" in order to show all the beauty of this continent.
